Dr. Abel specializes in skin cancer surgery and procedural dermatology related to the aging process. He received his dermatologic training in the sunbelt where he treated patients for many of the severe effects of sun damage. As a trained Mohs’ surgeon, he performs an advanced method of skin cancer removal that is tissue-sparing. He performs other techniques to destroy precancerous lesions and to retard the damage caused by the sun.

Dr. Abel is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the American College of Mohs’ Surgery. He is also an Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the Columbia University College of Medicine at New York-Presbyterian Hospital.
