Dr. West is the Associate Program Director for the Hospice and Palliative Care Fellowship Program and Medical Director for the Palliative Care Program at Hunterdon Medical Center.
With an undergraduate degree in psychology, prior to studying Public Health at the Jefferson College of Population Health and then attending medical school, Chris had a strong desire to understand and address all aspects of a patient's health and well-being. Inspired by his time at home caregiving for his grandmother, he gained an appreciation for the complexities of end-of-life care and the importance of considering each person's goals and values before acting in their interest. During his medical residency, due to his appreciation for patient autonomy and the value Chris saw in palliative involvement with patient care, he pursued a Fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Care. Dr. West is board-certified in Hospice and Palliative Care. He desires to advocate for every patient he sees, to help them not only determine what is important to them when it comes to their health and well-being but to then help them achieve it.
