Karina’s excitement for Family Medicine grew during her third year of medical school, when, as she likes to say, “Family Medicine chose her.” Her first clinical rotation was in Family Medicine, where she quickly found herself looking forward to each day. That experience stayed with her throughout her clerkships, as she continued seeking meaningful connections with patients across every specialty. She was drawn to the field because it offers the chance to understand patients beyond their diagnoses—their lives, challenges, goals, and the stories that shape their health. Her clinical interests within the field include obesity and lifestyle medicine, as well as aesthetic medicine. She is passionate about helping patients build sustainable, confidence-boosting habits that improve both long-term health and overall well-being. Beyond the exam room, Karina can be found reading on her Kindle, ideally with a coffee that required a small adventure to find. When she’s not traveling or spending time with loved ones, she’s perfecting her curly hair routine or bravely trying to convince her houseplants to survive.
