Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center

Nationally Recognized Cancer Program

Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center is committed to providing high-quality care to every patient who enters our doors for consultation, education, treatment or follow-up care. Like all excellent cancer centers, Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (CoC) and the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC). The essential purpose of the CoC and NAPBC is to set standards for quality cancer care and to evaluate a facility’s compliance with these standards. By participating in the survey process every three years, Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center demonstrates in a very public way our commitment to quality care and continuous process improvement.

Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center has earned the CoC’s Outstanding Achievement Award, the highest recognition of cancer program excellence. There are more than 1,500 CoC-accredited cancer programs in the United States. With this recognition, we have proven, using very objective measures, that our goal of providing high-quality care is, in fact, a reality at Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center.

National Community Oncology Research Program

National Community Oncology Research Program

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) has designated Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center as a National Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP). Hunterdon Health’s Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center will be one of the major health systems and medical centers throughout northern and central New Jersey that make up the Atlantic Health Cancer Consortium (AHCC) NCORP. As New Jersey’s first and only NCORP, AHCC will help develop and implement NCI cancer prevention, screening, care delivery, and treatment studies with leading healthcare systems across the state.

Specific goals of the consortium will be to increase adult and pediatric participation in the above-referenced types of NCI and National Clinical Trials Network clinical trials, including members of groups that are currently underrepresented in clinical trials, such as ethnic and racial minorities. The consortium will also collect tissue samples in order to support advances in genomics and molecularly targeted therapies.

Patient Stories

With a grateful heart, you'll never know how much I appreciate the kindness Jenna showed me every day of my radiation. She is an ambassador to her profession. I feel grateful that everyone helped me through a stressful time with joy, concern, and professionalism. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
It takes a strong person with a huge heart to be as dedicated to helping and healing cancer patients. At this time of writing, I don't have a clue as to what success the treatments have in store for me, but if it's as successful as the care I received it will be a home run! Thank you for your knowledge and professionalism in helping me fight my battle.
My personal experience with Dr. Rehman, Nurse Care Coordinator, Samantha Geiger, and the nursing and reception staff at the Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center has been wonderful. They all provide the highest level of compassionate care during a most difficult time in a patient's life. When you walk through the doors of the Cancer Center, you are met with open arms, skilled hands, and caring hearts. Words cannot express my gratitude and admiration for the patient care team at the Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center.
The nursing staff was outstanding. They made me feel like I was the only patient in the room. I actually felt special!
Everyone at HRCC made my journey into the scary unknown an experience I will remember all my life. The positive and professional attitude certainly made my journey to new and unexplored territory (for me) a smooth ride.
I just received radiation under the care of Dr. Greenberg. Thank you for the excellent care rendered by all concerned. I include all MDs, RNs, radiation techs and the cheerful people at the reception desk.
When I was first diagnosed, I wondered where it was best to go. I'm so glad I 'stayed home' at Hunterdon. What could have been an ordeal each week was instead a short drive to excellent care and a pleasant experience.
