Hunterdon Health is committed to keeping the community informed about the latest information regarding the coronavirus. Bright Tomorrows has been working diligently to keep children safe and has incorporated the guidelines set forth by the New Jersey Department of Children and Families (DCF) - Office of Licensing (OOL), as well as updates from the Infection Prevention Department of Hunterdon Medical Center, into our daily routines. As a reminder, if your child is sick, please do not send him/her to day care.

Child care centers must follow the COVID-19 Public Health Recommendations for Operating Childcare Programs Guidelines from the New Jersey Department of Health including:

  • Screening staff and children for fever (100.4 or higher) and other COVID-19 symptoms prior to entry to Bright Tomorrows each day;
  • No mask requirement when outdoors, and no mask requirement indoors when the weekly COVID-19 Activity Level Index (CALI score) is low or moderate (children 2 and over are subject to mask-wearing when needed);
  • Drop-off and pick-up routines of children at the lobby door to keep cross-contamination to a minimum;
  • Limiting the sharing of supplies, food, toys, and other items between children;
  • Limiting and re-directing close person-to-person contact (hugging, games involving touching or tagging);
  • Continuing to teach and reinforce healthy hygiene practices - hand washing at critical times of the daily routine - to prevent the spread of COVID-19;
  • Asking visitors to comply with the most recent child care standards/executive orders;
  • Ensuring all surfaces and used items are cleaned and sanitized daily;
  • Planning for and abiding by the latest guidelines for response to a COVID-19 diagnosis and/or exposure;
  • Completing DCF Office of Licensing daily health log; and
  • Requiring notices and wall signs to be posted on entry and exit doors, in diapering areas, and in restrooms.

Hot Shots for Tots Certificate

Hot Shots for Tots

The NJ Department of Health has awarded Bright Tomorrows with the Gold Medal Certificate for the Hot Shots for Tots Immunization Campaign. This program encourages childcare and preschool facilities to promote best practices and improve immunization coverage among children by using staff as models and facilitators. This is Bright Tomorrows' second consecutive Gold Medal recognition in two years of participation.  Bright Tomorrows is one of only two providers recognized for this distinction in Flemington.

Safety & Security

The security of children and staff at Bright Tomorrows is one of our top priorities. The emergence of COVID-19 has added to our mission to keep everyone safe and secure. Bright Tomorrows is made secure by the use of photo ID cards and a “card reader” system in place on the Hunterdon Medical Center campus and monitored by HMC’s Safety & Security Department. Staff uses this system in Bright Tomorrows at the front entrance and at each classroom door. Security is also provided by cameras in place that provide administrative staff with views of the front entrance on both sides, and both playgrounds. These views are also monitored by the Safety and Security staff in Hunterdon Medical Center.
