Hunterdon Health is committed to keeping the community informed about the latest information regarding common infections, viruses and infection prevention. Bright Tomorrows has been working diligently to keep children safe and has incorporated the guidelines set forth by the New Jersey Department of Children and Families (DCF) - Office of Licensing (OOL), as well as updates from the Infection Prevention Department of Hunterdon Medical Center, into our daily routines. As a reminder, if your child is sick, please do not send him/her to daycare.
Bright Tomorrows has in place a core set of infectious disease prevention strategies as part of our normal operations. To help protect children from COVID-19, influenza (flu), respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), and other infections, we:
Screen staff and children for fever (100.4 or higher) and other symptoms prior to entry to Bright Tomorrows each day;
Use a drop-off and pick-up routine of children at the lobby door to keep cross-contamination to a minimum;
Limit the sharing of supplies, food, toys, and other items between children;
Limit and re-direct close person-to-person contact (hugging, games involving touching or tagging);
Practice healthy hygiene routines – such as hand washing at critical times of the day;
Ask visitors to comply with the most recent childcare standards/executive orders; currently, masks are recommended and not required;
Ensure all surfaces and used items are cleaned and sanitized daily;
Abide by the latest guidelines to respond to all infectious outbreaks, diagnoses and/or exposures;
Require public health notices and wall signs to be posted on entry and exit doors, in diapering areas, and in restrooms.
