  • Laboratory - Phlebotomy

Clinical Student Requirements

Immunizations include: influenza, measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and Tdap.  Hepatitis B vaccination will be necessary for individuals involved with patient care and may come in contact with body substances or fluids (refer to job description for details). Students and contractors are encouraged to obtain annual seasonal influenza vaccines in advance. Otherwise, they may be obtained at Occupational Health Services for a fee. Documentation of Fit Testing for N95 respirator masks is required before patient contact. For students only, if the fit testing documentation is not obtained, the student may not enter any patient room that is under isolation that requires an N95 respirator.  Individuals will be required to obtain their own immunizations, PPD, and Fit Testing through their agency, school, or family physician.  If they can’t obtain it on their own, Occupational Health can administer it for a fee.  Occupational Health can be reached at 908-788-6146.  IGRA testing or PPD must have been placed and read within the past 12 months from the start date. Individuals pay for their own immunizations, Drug Screening, PPD, and Fit Testing.

Everyone will be given the form for TABB to have their criminal check run if they don’t already have one in the past 6 months. If students are in a clinical rotation with their school (ex: Dieticians or RN’s) and a criminal check was performed by the school upon entering the rotation, that will be acceptable even if it’s beyond the 6-month period but still within the rotation period. Checks must be run in any state they have lived or worked in the past 7 years.  Individuals pay for their own criminal check.

As part of the credentialing process, students must complete the orientation packet using learning modules 1 and 2 before their school submits an Application.
