Testing and Screening for Children
The audiologists at the Speech & Hearing Center offers a wide range of diagnostic services for children. A variety of testing methods are used to best suit the medical and personal needs of each child.
Such testing may include:
- Visual reinforcement
- Behavioral observation audiometry
- Conditioned play audiometry
- Otoacoustic emissions testing
- Middle ear testing
Hunterdon Medical Center is part of the newborn screening program. Early detection of hearing loss is imperative in diagnosing hearing loss and aiding in the development of normal speech and language skills. Hearing screenings are performed on every baby born at Hunterdon Medical Center.
