The Hunterdon Health Auxiliary exists for charitable and educational purposes. Through fundraising and educational events, the Hunterdon Health Auxiliary promotes the health and welfare of the Hunterdon Health community.
Since 1953, the Hunterdon Health Auxiliary has played a vital role in supporting the mission of Hunterdon Health to advance quality Health in the community. The Auxiliary welcomes members from various walks of life. What we have in common is a desire to make a difference and share our time and talents. Most volunteers say their greatest reward is the sense of personal fulfillment and the sense of fellowship that comes with exploring new interests and sharing new experiences with fellow Auxiliary members.
We are a volunteer organization originally formed in 1953. Together with the Hunterdon Health Foundation we work to make meaningful contributions to Hunterdon Health. We have succeeded in helping to fund numerous programs and technological needs within the healthcare system through our various fund-raising events.
Sapphires & Sequins is the Auxiliary’s signature event. It is a “Girls’ Night Out” encompassing a VIP experience, shopping, live auction, raffle, fashion show, fine food and wine. Each year, the beneficiaries will be determined by a vote of Auxiliary membership, with input on current need from the Hunterdon Health Foundation. Register here.
Each Spring and Fall, the Auxiliary and the Foundation invite the community to attend a complimentary meal and informative session. This helps to promote a connection between community members and the healthcare system, while presenting the opportunity to become an Auxiliary member.
This event that has been ongoing since 1986, and focuses on the light within each of us by acknowledging the light in others. This year-long event supplies the Auxiliary with discretionary funds, which can be utilized within the healthcare system as the need arises. Each year on the first Wednesday in December, Lights of Love celebrates donations made throughout the year that honor or memorialize people who have touched our lives in a special way. More event information here.
Held on the second Wednesday in December, Auxiliary and community members bake holiday-themed cookies and treats to be sold, with proceeds benefiting Briteside Adult Day Center.
There are many roles for Auxiliary volunteers including support of events, administration, and community outreach. Please contact the Foundation to learn more about volunteering opportunities.
