Proving that philanthropy and community leadership can start at any age, Raritan Township siblings Shiven and Saanvi Bansal recently hosted their seventh annual neighborhood charity car wash to support patients at Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center. On Sunday, August 30, the Bansal family driveway once again became a gathering place for friends, neighbors, and volunteers who washed 69 cars and raised $7,000 for local cancer care. This year’s successful effort brings the ShivSaa Foundation’s cumulative contributions to approximately $26,000 over seven consecutive summers.
What began as a simple idea when Shiven and Saanvi were young has evolved into an eagerly anticipated tradition centered on showing up year after year for a cause that feels deeply personal. Driven by a desire to stand behind local families facing a cancer diagnosis, the siblings created the ShivSaa Foundation to learn early lessons in responsibility, compassion, and bringing people together through hands-on service. Proceeds from their ongoing work help Hunterdon Health Foundation fund vital programs, patient comfort items, and support services that bring hope to individuals receiving treatment.
Hunterdon Health Foundation extends its deepest gratitude to the ShivSaa Foundation, their hard-working volunteers, and every neighbor who rolled up their sleeves to support the event. Seven years later, Shiven and Saanvi continue to demonstrate that thoughtful, consistent local action builds something far bigger than imagined, leaving a lasting mark on cancer care in Hunterdon County.
