Here are just a few highlights from Sue’s nominations:

  • Sue demonstrates an unwavering commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment, and her genuine desire to ensure the success of every nurse is palpable. She is not only an extremely knowledgeable resource but also a relatable mentor.

  • Sue goes above and beyond to make education accessible, presenting complex topics in a manner that all learners can easily understand, often sharing real-life experiences that resonate with our staff. She has a unique talent for incorporating humor into her teaching, which not only makes learning enjoyable but also helps to alleviate the stress that can often accompany our demanding roles.

  • In addition to her vast knowledge and experience, Sue is always available to support our registered nurses, whether through individual consults or group training sessions. Her professional demeanor and authentic approach create a safe space for nurses to ask questions and seek guidance, which in turn enhances our team's growth and development.

  • Sue embodies adaptability, always willing to adjust educational methods to meet the diverse needs of our staff. This flexibility, combined with her commitment to excellence, has made her an invaluable asset to Hunterdon Health, our nursing staff, and the community we serve.

  • Sue meets with the Cardiopulmonary Department several times a year to in-service the staff with emergency drills and adapts her curriculum to our outpatient department and adjusts to our patients’ needs. She always includes our team in nursing protocol changes and is able to provide us with drills that specifically apply to our patient population.

  • Sue takes her job seriously and holds us accountable for our ability to provide excellent emergency care in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation. She assumes the responsibility to train us in emergency situations and educates us to provide this quality of emergency care through role-playing and creating scenarios for us to experience and work through in a practical setting.

  • Sue is genuine and sincere in her manner. She listens to our needs and will produce the appropriate scenarios to help us improve our skill set. She is gentle and relaxed in her educating style and does not put pressure on us, and is never condescending or demeaning. She welcomes any questions and reaches her students in a calm fashion.

  • Sue does not treat our team members in a divisive way, separating the exercise physiologist from the Nurses. She keeps our team together, although there will be different responsibilities that maximize the performance of the group as a whole.

  • Sue has been our resource, mentor, and educator for all 14 years of my journey at Hunterdon Medical Center. She is diligent and conscientious and always responds to our emails or needs. She is passionate about teaching and keeps us abreast in our ever-changing world of healthcare policy and patient care.

  • Sue reminds us that any client can be one of our family members and that we would want our family member to receive superior emergency care. She inspires our team while simultaneously holding us to a high standard. She leads through her actions and is one of Hunterdon Medical Center's strongest assets.

Congratulations, Sue!
