September Employee of the Month Joseph Penyak

September 16, 2026
Joseph Penyak

Here are just a few highlights from Joseph’s nominations:

• Joseph is the definition of a reliable and accountable team member who consistently 'shows up'—not just by being physically present and punctual, but by being fully committed to our team's success.

• As the sole physical therapy assistant in a busy clinic of four PTs, Joseph plays a critical role in our daily operations. He consistently goes above and beyond, adapting his schedule to ensure our PTs have the time they need to complete new patient evaluations.

• Recently, when a new post/op patient needed to be seen, he was able to see some of the PT’s patients to allow for a 1-hour evaluation. This flexibility has directly reduced our scheduling conflicts and significantly boosted patient satisfaction.

• Joseph’s ability to adjust to the clinic's changing needs—all while maintaining the highest standards of patient care—makes him an invaluable resource to our team and our patients.

• Joseph has a natural way of making every patient and co-worker feel like they belong and are totally respected. He has a lot of integrity and is always doing the right thing.

• Joseph brings a warm, genuine presence to every shift. He treats everyone—from his patients to his peers—with deep respect and kindness, making sure every person who walks through our doors feels truly seen.

• Joseph is incredibly attentive to patient needs, ensuring that no one ever feels rushed and that every individual receives the thoughtful, high-quality care they deserve.

• Joseph excels at empowering his patients, transforming them from passive recipients of care into active partners in their journey to improve their quality of life.

• Joseph doesn't just treat patients; he coaches them, swapping medical jargon for clear plans that make everyone feel capable of hitting their recovery goals. As an example, Joseph encourages his post-TKR patients using his signature blend of encouragement and exercises to get our patients moving smoothly again.

• Joseph actively includes all patients in the "Question of the Day" on the clinic whiteboard. This may be debating whether Mother Goose is a human or a goose, or choosing between pulp or no pulp in one’s breakfast juice. These interactions build community and ease patients' anxiety while providing his patients with a level of support and security that is truly rare.

• Joseph consistently goes above and beyond, proving that his dedication to care doesn't stop at the clinic door. Recently, when a patient found herself stranded with a broken key in her car lock, he stepped in without hesitation to help her resolve the situation. This "extra mile" mentality provides our patients with a level of support and security that is truly rare.

Congratulations, Joseph!
