Hunterdon Central Regional High School and North Hunterdon High School Wrestling teams held a tournament called “Taking Down Cancer” to benefit Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center. During the meet, the teams collected donations from attendees and sales from their concession stand. The Hunterdon Central students also wore t-shirts showing the names of loved ones and friends who have been impacted by a cancer diagnosis. Students from Hunterdon Central and North Hunterdon presented Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center with a check for $1,000.
The donation will support the Special Needs Fund at Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center. This fund helps alleviate the financial burden many cancer patients and their families encounter during their treatment and recovery period. These funds will help patients and their families concentrate on recovery, and not worry about how to pay for non-medical expenses such as travel, food or other items.
