Here are just a few highlights from Eva’s nominations:
Eva embodies the core values of Hunterdon Health through her unwavering dedication, compassion, and humility. She is a pillar of support for both patients and staff, and her commitment to excellence is visible in everything she does.
Eva is accountable. She takes personal responsibility for the success of the unit. She consistently goes above and beyond—often picking up open shifts, working all hours and shifts, and reorganizing the schedule to avoid short staffing. Even when the unit transitioned from paper to online scheduling, she personally entered each team member's schedule, identified coverage gaps, and worked with staff to ensure PTO requests were honored and shifts remained covered.
Eva is adaptable: In times of change or crisis, she steps in without hesitation. Whether it's staying calm during unit stressors, switching shifts with little notice, or navigating new systems and policies, she does so with grace and efficiency. Her ability to adjust to changing needs while maintaining high standards makes her an invaluable resource on the floor.
Eva is authentic: She shows up each day with sincerity and integrity. She offers a warm, genuine presence, treating everyone—from patients to peers—with deep respect and kindness. Her colleagues trust her judgment because she is fair, ethical, and consistent in her actions. She never asks for recognition, but her impact is felt across the department.
Eva is inclusive: She listens attentively and treats every individual with fairness and empathy. She fosters a work environment where every voice is heard. Whether supporting a colleague through a tough moment or advocating for patients who can’t advocate for themselves, she ensures that everyone feels valued and included.
Eva is committed: Her commitment to both her profession and the mission of Hunterdon Health is unmatched. Beyond her clinical role, she is the policy chair, scheduling coordinator, a preceptor, and an active member of multiple committees, including the Holistic Committee, Night Council, and Practice Council. She also participates in community service, hospital-led food and clothing drives, and global health mission trips—demonstrating her tireless dedication to serving others, both locally and globally.
Eva is empowered: She leads by example. Despite her deep knowledge and experience since joining Hunterdon in 2004, she teaches with humility, making others feel capable and supported. She uplifts her peers, encourages professional growth, and contributes to a positive, collaborative culture where people feel confident and capable in their roles
Eva is not only an exceptional nurse, but she is also a selfless human being who pours her heart into everything she does. Her work ethic, quiet leadership, and unwavering support for her team make her the true definition of a Hunterdon Health Employee of the Month. We are better—every day—because she is part of this team.
Congratulations, Eva!
