Welcome to the Hunterdon Breast Surgery Center. I am Dr. Montes, a board-certified general surgeon by the American Board of Surgery specializing in diseases of the breast. I am a current and active member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons. I also speak fluent Spanish and welcome our Spanish-speaking patients. I received my undergraduate education at Cornell University and then went on to receive a Masters in Public Health from the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. I earned my medical doctorate degree from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia and went on to complete my surgical training at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City.
I knew very early in my medical career that the treatment of breast disease was my passion. This knowledge afforded me the unique ability to seek out every opportunity to expose myself to the field at varying high-profile institutions working with some of the most prominent leaders in the field. During my residency, I completed externships at Memorial Sloan Kettering, Columbia University, and St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital. After completing my general surgery training, I was selected for the breast surgery fellowship at New York University Langone Medical Center. These opportunities allowed me to publish and present clinical research, perfect my surgical skills, and draw from many different schools of thought and styles to form my own unique treatment approach.
During this time, I realized that the integration of Eastern and holistic treatments to treat the mind and spirit were equally as important as state-of-the-art Western medicine to treat the body. I truly believe that the paramount of treating any disease is to bring East and West together, synergistically, and I embrace the integration of holistic modalities to do so. I work closely with the Hunterdon Health & Wellness Centers as well as with several holistic healers in the community and look forward to introducing my patients to the benefits of holistic modalities such as Reiki, acupuncture, massage, aromatherapy, and integrative nutrition.
When it came time to choose a place of employment, I knew that my time in the big city felt complete. I wanted to find a close-knit community to call home and to bring all that I had learned to the women of my community. Hunterdon County was the perfect fit and I feel very fortunate to call it my home. My goal is to not only offer you the utmost state-of-the-art care but also to provide the reassurance and guidance you need during your time of treatment. I spent six years commuting in and out of New York City so you wouldn’t have to. I hear you and I’m here for you.
Dr. Montes sees patients in Flemington and Washington.

I am a board-certified family nurse practitioner specializing in breast surgery and diseases of the breast. I received my Master of Science in Nursing from Moravian University in Bethlehem, PA, and my undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Villanova University in Villanova, PA. Prior to joining Hunterdon Health, I completed seven years of nursing at Lehigh Valley Health Network caring for various patient populations, including inpatient adult medical-surgical and outpatient pediatric settings. It was from these experiences that I was able to gain the clinical knowledge and skills that have helped to mold me into the advanced practice nurse I am today.
It was during my clinical rotations in graduate school that I developed a strong love and passion for women’s health, which led me to this “special specialty” here at Hunterdon Breast Surgery Center. I am grateful to work alongside Dr. Montes and our team to provide the highest standard of care to our patients. As an advanced practice nurse, I support both breast cancer survivorship and high-risk programs at the office. I also treat benign conditions and diseases of the breast. With a holistic approach, I develop individualized care plans, educate on preventative screening, and empower patients to make informed decisions for their breast health and overall well-being. I am certified by and a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. I am also Certified by the American Heart Association in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
For a personal glimpse into my life, I was raised in Hackettstown, NJ, and moved to the Lehigh Valley, PA with my family when I was twelve, so I guess you can say that Hunterdon Health has brought me home to my “Jersey roots!” In my free time, I enjoy being on a boat or at the beach in Long Beach Island, NJ with my boyfriend and friends. I also love going to Pure Barre classes, exploring new places, and spending quality time with my family and my cat, Jac!
I am a board-certified Women's Health Nurse Practitioner. I received my Master of Science in Nursing from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA, and my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark, NJ. Prior to embarking on my career as a nurse, I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Colorado at Boulder and worked in early childhood education for four years.
Before earning my MSN, I worked as an RN for 10 years, caring for patients in an Emergency Department as well as a Post-Anesthesia Care Unit, where I obtained certification as a Peri-Anesthesia Nurse. After deciding to continue my education, I focused my graduate school studies on Women's Health and have worked in breast care since obtaining my APRN license in 2023.
It is a privilege to have the opportunity to work with Dr. Montes and the breast health team at Hunterdon Health to provide our patients with holistic, patient-centered care, focusing on the individual and their needs. I am an APP member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons and the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women's Health. I maintain AHA, BLS, and ACLS certifications.
I was born and raised in New Jersey, and after living in Colorado and Massachusetts in my 20s, my husband and I settled in New Jersey and live in Hunterdon County with our two daughters, and our dog Oliver. We love traveling as a family, exploring all the world has to share with us; we enjoy live music, good food, time in the great outdoors, and spending time with friends and family.
