Montgomery Township Police is continuing its partnership with Hunterdon Health and Evolve Pink for October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign

October 2, 2025
Hunterdon Health rpoudly sponsored Montgomery Police's pink breast cancer awareness car.

Montgomery Township Police Chief Silvio Bet is proud to announce a special partnership with Hunterdon Health in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness. The Montgomery Township Police Department is continuing to show their support of Breast Cancer Awareness by deploying a pink-wrapped police vehicle during the month of October. Chief Bet stated that both he and his partners are committed to the important role of elevating safety and cultivating healthier communities by connecting people to care. The pink-wrapped vehicle is a symbol of the team’s collaborative commitment to enhancing awareness, support, care, and resources to our communities and to the families affected by breast cancer. “We are honored to collaborate with Hunterdon Health in this meaningful initiative,” said Chief Bet.

Hunterdon Health, a trusted leader in healthcare for the region, has supported the initiative for a second consecutive year by funding the wrapping of the police vehicle which will be utilized for community engagement and awareness during the month of October. The pink-wrapped vehicle will contain a QR code provided by Hunterdon Health containing a direct link to mammogram screenings. The initiative’s goal is to educate and empower through awareness, promote proactive self-care, and provide valuable resources for screenings and support services understanding that early detection is the key to more treatment options and better success rates. This partnership aims to make preventive care more accessible and to encourage open conversations about women’s health.

Getting a mammogram is an important step women can take to protect their health.  The best protection is early detection.  Help spread the word.  Encourage your mother, sisters, daughters, grandmothers, aunts, co-workers, neighbors and friends to schedule their mammogram.

Breast Screening Guidelines for Women:

- Clinical breast examinations every 1-3 years from age 25-39, then annually from age 40 on.
- Begin annual screening mammography at age 40 years.
- Monthly self-breast exams starting at age 18 years old, a week after their period when hormones are lowest. Women should be familiar with how their breasts normally look and feel and should report any changes to their health care provider.

Also displayed on the vehicle will be a link to Evolve Pink, a local non-profit organization providing programs that support with compassion, empower with education, comfort with holistic modalities, build supportive community, and bring powerful customized healing experiences to women and families affected by breast cancer. Evolve Pink strives to bridge the gap between treatment and true healing.

The Montgomery Township Police Department would like to thank the following: Philippe Beekman, Senior Vice President & COO of Hunterdon Health Foundation, Kathleen Seelig, Corporate Director of Public Relations and Marketing of Hunterdon Health, and Dr. Jennifer Montes MD MPH, Hunterdon Breast Surgery Center and founder of Evolve Pink, for their support of this initiative.

On Sunday, October 5th the Pink car will be displayed at Lenape Park in Flemington New Jersey from 9:00AM – 2:00PM for the Evolve Pink: Strides of Strength fund raiser for programs for warriors & survivors. 100% of the proceeds go directly to funding these programs so that the programs can be provided for free to the women who need them.
