This National Volunteer Appreciation Week (starting April 19th), Hunterdon Health is saying a sincere "thank you" to our community of volunteers who make our hospital feel like home. From the friendly faces at the Information Desk and the Gift Shop to those providing quiet support in Hospice and our Cancer Center, these volunteers are the thread that connects our healthcare system to the community we serve. Whether you’ve seen them captaining the Tea Trolley, helping with Pet Therapy, sorting treasures in our Thrift Shop, or lending a hand in one of our many other departments, their personal touch defines the Hunterdon experience.
The commitment of this group is as measurable as it is meaningful. This year, over 250 volunteers donated a total of 21,017 hours to our patients and staff. When we look at the numbers, that time represents $746,088 in donated service value to the hospital. Additionally, through their hard work at our retail locations and events, our volunteers raised $375,000 in revenue—funds that go directly back into the programs that help our neighbors heal.
Whether they are at the Medical Center or one of our many satellite locations, our volunteers affect the quality of care for everyone who walks through our doors. Their contributions touch lives all over Hunterdon, and we are deeply grateful for the time and heart they invest in our mission.
