The Hunterdon Health Auxiliary proudly announced that their signature event, Splash of Sparkle, raised over $47,000 in support of Hunterdon Hospice. Held on April 6th at Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club, the Sunday brunch brought together supporters for a morning of delicious food, mimosas, a tricky tray basket raffle, and a $1,000 Visa gift card drawing. Guests were also treated to a performance by a mentalist and heartfelt remarks from Jean Hewens, a longtime friend of Hunterdon Health, who shared her personal journey as a caregiver for her husband, Dr. Jeremy Hewens, a former Hunterdon family physician.
Following a traumatic brain injury nine years ago, Dr. Hewens' life was forever changed. For the past three years, the Hospice and Palliative Care teams at Hunterdon Health have played a vital role in supporting both Jeremy and Jean, offering comfort, expertise, and moments of relief. Jean’s words powerfully illustrated just how essential these services are, not only for patients but for their families. The Auxiliary is deeply grateful to contribute to a program that delivers a level of compassionate care that goes far beyond what words can express.
