Hunterdon Healthy Harvest Fresh Stop Market connects community members with fresh, organic, locally grown produce through an affordable sliding-scale farm share program developed by New Roots, a nonprofit founded on the belief that fresh food is a basic human right. Hunterdon Health collaborates with local farmers through the Hunterdon County Farmers Market (HCFM) located at Dvoor Farm on Rt 12 in Flemington to promote easier access to the robust programs they already have in place. The HCFM accepts SNAP/EBT. By collaborating with regional growers like Cabbage Throw Farm, and others this initiative increases access to seasonal produce, supports the local agricultural economy, and ensures everyone in the community has the opportunity to eat fresh, locally grown food.
Through the New Roots Fresh Stop Market App you subscribe to receive a bi-weekly bundle of 6-8 seasonal vegetables from local farmers. The produce will be available for pick up every other Sunday starting July 26th from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Hunterdon County Farmers Market located at Dvoor Farm, 111 Mine St, Flemington, NJ.
We use a sliding-scale pricing model so everyone can participate. Share levels include: $8 (qualifies for SNAP), $15 (limited resources NJ Income Chart = If participants' combined income is below the listed amount for their family size and they are not utilizing SNAP benefits, they qualify for the $15 share), $26 (higher-income), and $42 (Food Justice, which supports other families in the program). Please note that under this program, no food is purchased with grant funds.
